Begin in the hinterland

Beerwah is a small town in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, close to the distinctive Glass House Mountains. The official Beerwah guide (opens in a new tab) is a useful orientation before you travel.

Use local information

The wider Sunshine Coast Hinterland guide (opens in a new tab) recommends visitor information centres for current maps and advice. Check track, road and weather information close to departure.

Respect the mountains

The mountains are culturally significant. Queensland’s published guidance notes that Jinibara and Kabi Kabi people request visitors do not climb Beerwah or Tibrogargan out of respect for the mountains’ sacred values. Choose other ways to experience the landscape, and follow signs and official access directions. Learn more (opens in a new tab)

Travel with flexibility

Mountain weather and park conditions can change. Carry water, wear suitable footwear, keep to marked routes and change your plans if access or conditions call for it.
